"Question:
We mistakenly used curing compound on a large floor that was to receive a glued-down floor covering. We tried to remove it with a solvent recommended by the curing-compound manufacturer, but it wouldn't come off. Are there any other ways to remove a curing compound?

Answer:
HoverTrowel, Inc., Mohnton, Pa., makes steel-bristle brushes that clip onto the float blades of a power trowel. They come in two types: a standard model with flexible bristles and a heavy-duty version with shorter, stiffer bristles. The heavy-duty model is recommended for removing sealers and curing compounds. We heard of one contractor who mounted these stiff-bristle brushes on two double-rider trowels and was able to remove curing compound from 100,000 square feet of floor per day."
